Bidders should rely on their own knowledge and research in determining maker, age, region of origin, etc.Inspired by the classics of Tiffany and Durand, comes this wonderful revival Art Nouveau lamp shade, skillfully handcrafted in classic form, with a pulled feather decor overlaid by an extensive thread decor. Great blue and platinum colors, accented by wonderful iridescence!A note about photographing iridescent/reflective/metallic objects : Please be aware that an iridescent object (vase, paperweight, etc) has a finish that is reflective...it 'sees' what is opposite it, much like a mirror. In order to effectively illuminate the surface of such items, we surround them with white board, and light the board so that the iridescent surface sees a color balanced, clean and even white light, thus properly illuminating (most of) the surface and decoration of the object, which is the attraction of these pieces. This is correct, accurate and professional lighting that is used when photographing iridescent or other highly reflective items. This is *ideal* lighting and not your average home illumination . It is not effective, accurate or correct to use direct lighting (flash or constant) which does not and will never work, because the result will always be the classic fireball.
