BUY A PIECE OF THIS BUILDING!!! Around the turn of the century, varmints in Billings, Yellowstone County, Montana needed a place to overnight and judges needed a place to pass judgment on them. Therefore, in 1903, pursuant to the 1895 Political Code of Montana and a vote of the County Electors, the Board of Yellowstone Commissioners saw fit to issue the offered $1000 bond to finance the construction of a County Court House and Jail. Said $1000 was to be repaid to the Thomas Cruse Savings Bank in Helena at 4% annual interest, and was due in 1923. Based on our research, issued examples of this bond do not exist, and this excessively rare Specimen Bond engraved by the Western Bank Note Co. is the only extant example thereof.
