Details/Notes: This is an original X-rayograph from the artist Albert Koetsier. It is a cataloged piece and is identical to pieces sold at galleries. It is standard size, so it should fit in a standard off-the-shelf frame available from most art shops (Aaron Bros., Tall Mouse, etc). The image is mounted, matted with acid-free paper and framed in a silver-colored aluminum frame. The X-ray itself is immaculate with no errors or other issues.
This flower is an Anthurium, also known as a Flamingo Flower. The composition is exquisite and is one of Mr. Koetsier's better known pieces.

__________________________________________
I have a number of Albert Koetsier X-rayographs that I received directly from the artist. They are not part of the official catalog, and many of them are one-of-a-kind. Several of these I liked very much so I had them at my work for several years (I guess I was the unofficial interior-decorator). Recently we had to make a move to a new building that already had artwork on the walls and so t was no more room for these pieces. Some of them I gave to employees and retirees as gifts, but the nicer ones I kept. Needless to say, these have been the topic of quite a few conversations around the office. But rather than to leave them sitting in storage, I thought I would offer them for sale
X-rayographs are photos made using the actual x-ray as the negative. This is a form of art that is now gaining popularity by a few artists who have the means and facilities to make use of an x-ray machine to create their art. Albert Koetsier is such an artist who actually built his own x-ray machine to develop this form or art. Because of the high-cost of production, these types of photographs are extremely rare and can cost as much as $1500 at art shows and galleries. Mr. Koetsier is perhaps the most sought after artist in the field because his pieces are uniquely composed and have received considerable acclaim in the art press. Mr. Koetsier is also one of the only artists that paints the x-rayographs by hand, while most other colored x-rays are typically colored digitally. This makes his pieces that much more sought after and truly unique. Mr. Koetsier is also starting to reduce the number of new images according to his website, and my guess is that he is retiring, so t will be even fewer available.
T are a number of websites that discuss Mr. Koetsier's artwork that you can find by googling his name or the word "x-rayography." Of course, he also has his own website ( ) w you can read all about the history of the format, the process, and w you can see a complete catalog of all his other pieces. I will be posting a few more unique pieces from Albert Koetsier on eBay in the next few days, so please check back if you are interested in them. Please note that this is not a print, like many other Albert Koetsier sourced images on the internet - this is an actual silver-gelatin photograph made the old-fashioned way in a dark room and not a computer. And for those pieces that are painted, the paint is oil-based meaning it will last as long as any other oil painting, if the same care is taken to preserve it.
I have packed this piece in an wood-reinforced art-shipping-sized package with considerable cardboard padding. It is also clearly labeled with the words "Art" and "Do Not Bend" on large labels, but t is always the po...
