Unusual to see.... a 3 pc WHITE DOT SHEAFFER CLIPPER SNORKEL pen, pencil and ball point pen set from about 1952. This is a used set, but still has its original box in nice shape and a $150. price tag. These pieces are all in burgundy plastic and lined stainless caps and gold filled trim. The plastic on all is in good condition, t are no dents in the caps and the gold filled trim is without brassing except as noted. The pen is the most heavily used. Its Touchdown filler and Snorkel mechanisms need cleaned, resealed and and a new sac before it will take up ink. The nib is an excellent conic alloy with a straight Fine point and quite rigid. The barrel imprint on the pen is well worn and barely legible and the is some very light brassing on the cap ring. The ball point pen is button activated and its refill is dry. Sheaffer imprint on both the cap and barrel. The pencil uses .036" lead and operates perfectly. It has a small usable eraser left and a little lead in the magazine. This is the very thin model that accompanied Snorkel sets. The cap outer steel cover has shifted slightly aft from inner cap shell and the gold filled ring and has left a 1/16" gap between the steel outer cap and the gold filled ring. This is visible in the inset to photo 3 as compared to the ball point pen. Very nice set which needs a little bit of work. Please read more
