You are bidding on a very intricate original Japanese woodblock print Triptych "The Assembly of the Samurais" signed by the famous Edo woodblock print master Yoshitora Utagawa (active 1830-1887), made in Edo Era. This is an original woodblock print triptych for at least 118 years old. This woodblock print triptych is part of a large number of Asian art and Japanese woodblock print collections in my family. The artist's signature is close to the middle left edge of the left panel. The publisher's chop mark is at the lower right corner of the right panel. T is a special censor seal in each panel of this woodblock print triptych. The three panels of this triptych are separate. The size of each panel of this triptych is about 14 1/2 x 9 7/8 inches. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers on the prints. This woodblock print triptych is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese Washi paper. Except for a tiny wormhole at the upper left corner and some light ink smearing in the left border of the right panel, which do not affect the image at all, and in the left panel a vertical crease one inch away from right edge and two tiny wormholes close to the middle of the right edge, due to the print's age, this woodblock print triptych is in excellent condition. It is hard to find an original Japanese woodblock print triptych of such a special Samurai scene signed the famous Edo woodblock print master Yoshitora in the public nowadays; this woodblock print triptych is definitely an incredible piece for collecting.
