This auction is for a vintage and all original Knights of Templar Masonic sword possibly used as a ceremonial sword and complete with the original scabbard or sheath. The sword was made by the E. A. Armstrong Mfg. Co and is marked with the Armstrong name and address of 434-440 S. Wabash Avenue Chicago, Illinois. The blade measures 30" in length and is very ornately decorated with Templar style engravings on both sides along with the recipients name of: LOUIS A. NEW on the center of one side. The handle measures 7" in length with a decorative cross handguard that features a smaller silver cross imbedded into the one side of the plain black handle along with a Knights helmet on the top. The sheath measures 31" long and is also very well done featuring what appears to be a red and blue enameling on the Knights chest cross, his shield and on the larger red cross with very small writing surrounding the large red cross that I am unable to read. The tip guard and center eye attachment are still present and in good working condition with parts of the sheath appearing to also have been done in silver. The sword and the sheath are in very good to excellent condition showing no damage but the sheath could use a very good cleaning and polishing. I hav e taken many photos and enlarged them for you to see and also be the judge of condition so please email any questions prior to placing a bid.
