This is an original John Ek Model 3 knife, made in Richmond , Virginia . The knife is in factory new condition, with its original sheath, also mint. The 6-1/2" blade is marked on the left side with the Ek logo: crossed knives and: "Ek/ Commando", with: "1941" (the year the company was founded), and, in a scroll: " Korea ", "World War II", and: " Vietnam " (w the knives were used). As you know, Ek production was moved from Richmond to Effingham , Illinois around 1994. And the Effingham factory closed its doors in 1997. The handle is rock maple with the large brass rivets that were only used at Richmond ; no knives were made using these rivets while Ek was in Effingham. Green web sheath, Richmond marked. Knife and sheath are in factory mint condition, never sharpened, carried or used; they have been in storage since they were made. You won't get a better one.
