This is a RARE, Early WWII Westinghouse M-1 Helmet Liner that took the early snap-in sweatbands (as used in the paper liners). This liner came from a gentleman who was in an Artillery unit in WWII, and you can see the beautiful paint job of a mortar on the side of the helmet. This liner also takes the RARE riveted on liner strap. The riveted strap IS included, but it is broken. I'm sure you could take a later style strap and use the leather from it to fix this strap. This liner looks great, but it is not in MINT condition. It shows wear, chips to the paint, and it has two cracks on the rim of the liner that I have shown in my photos. Still, this is one RARE liner, and the hand painted Artillery insignia just adds to it. This would make an excellent addition to any collection, and would go great with a mannequin.
