Very Good condition, detached lead Papal seal as depicted . An EXTREMELY RARE and interesting Papal Bull written during the Pope's brief six year French exile. UNRECORDED in Potthast, Reg. Pont. Romanorum. This Bull is addressed to St. Clare, Clarisses (nuns of the convent of St. Michael Trent) . St Francis gave the nuns of the order of St. Claire a "way of life", similar in some respects to the Rules of St. Benedict, but by far a stricter form of evangelical poverty. In this Bull, the Pope allows for some concessions from the daily rigors of their rule, namely, allowing them to drink wine and eat pottage except Friday, allowing servants to break the rules of silence in the infirmary when necessary etc...
