Original #151 Happy Hippo Pull Toy 1962-63 Description: This is a big yellow hippopotamus that opens and closes his mouth as he makes a "ho-ho-ho" sound. Hippo can gobble up toys and store them inside his large tummy. Large wooden hippo that is designed to look at as though it is inside of a circus cage. It has red and white striped wooden bars on the sides on hippos body with paper lithograph pictures of a lion, a monkey balloons. Hippo has a large rounded movable mouth that is hollow inside and leads to the hippo's belly. Hippo has 2 small black vinyl ears, a spring tail with a wooden bead on the end, and he rolls on 4 red balloon-type plastic wheels. Measures 14-1/4" long, 7-1/4" high, and 7-1/4" wide. Wear to paper lithos, one rear wheel partially split. Mouth opens and closes, doesn’t make noise when wheels turn. One rear tire partially split on seam-see last picture. Wear to lithos. Very hard to find. Please enlarge the pictures and look carefully! I am not giving my opinion on condition as opinions vary. Many of these I was just glad to have in any condition! I have tried to supply large pictures, even though this sometimes makes them look worse than they are when they are enlarged.
