Measuring about 12 3/4" Long, by 8 1/2" Wide,544 pp and appears to be there, from start to finish, is this thick, early, New-England Estate-Found "Leather Bound" Book, dating to 1632~The Oldest book I have ever handled, in my whole life of antiques! It is printed in London, England. Oxford Edition. It is a copy of "Ovid's Metamorphosis" which is a Greek Mythological writing, much like "The Illiad" or "The Odyssey" by Homer. As can be seen from the pictures, There is a good amount of Wear, which is to be expected over the last three hundred and fifty years! But it appears to be "all there" There are some water circular marks, on the last quarter of the book's Pages. There is some interesting pen-markings that date to 1703, which, perhpas come from a student. Leather Binding is strong along the binding, but coming up-rooted, towards the side, could easily be fixed-up... This book is dating to only about a hundred years after the invention of the Printing Press by Gutenburg, by Job. Book acquired in New England, on Cape Cod, and very likely could have come over, to the USA, when the area was settled in the early 17th century. Great Old New England Find!!
