ORIGINAL HAND DRAWN 1787 SIGNED AND DATED SURVEY MAP. Measures 8 1/2" by 13", very good condition, some splitting at folds. Early map of a Stream called Warrior Run. Signed and Dated by JAMES MACKLIN - April 28th, 1787. A correction is noted at the top with a reference to Muncy Gap. T is also mention of another stream called "little Mudy (Muddy) Run". Other names on the document are Henry Starretts and William Shaw Esq. The back still has many of the calculations used by the surveyor. This document is from the Family Estate of Samuel Wallis, a well known figure in Lycoming County. Wallis served as a land agent for the Holland Land Company. This is attested by the abundance of Indian arrowheads and other implements found locally over the years. Delaware, Shawnee and Nanticokes were some that had lived in the valley.
