This is an original Civil War Cartridge box. The box is clearly stamped; "Garcellon & Covell Lewiston, Me 1863 ". The box is in "as is" condition. It's actually a pretty sound box however the sling buckles are missing. It does have it's original tins. Leather is a bit stiff and one corner is curled. Garcellon & Covell had an Army contract for 5,000 sets of accoutrements on Sept. 11, 1863. This is one one them. There is no box plate.
