Description: This is an original engraved Johnson's map of Nebraska, Dakota, Idaho & Montana plus adjacent areas including Wyoming territory and Northern parts of Utah, Colorado & Kansas. Handcolored and in excellent shape with a decorative border that is much sought after. It comes from an 1866 edition of Johnson's Family Atlas. A copy of the title page is included for authenticity. Dimensions: The map image measures approximately 17 by 23 inches on an 18 by 26 page, as published. Condition: This map is in excellent overall condition. No tears or spots. Faint water water marks in the corner margins, but these do not reach the fancy Johnson border. Not very noticeable and wll be invisible when matted/framed. L ight overall toning, probably less than typical for a 140-year old Johnson map. This is one of the most coveted of Johnson's state maps and will be beautiful framed.
