* is and original Pat Jan, 5,1903 splint birch Adirondack back pack basket. This is about as good as they come. The straps are made of old banded type cotton with brass eyes. This is a large basket of 21" tall and 19" wide at the center. The top is 16"X12". The wood is in great shape with only one very tiny piece of sashing in the front bottom conner that has a 1/4" chipped crack that dose not harm the basket at all! The top is the double bentwood with over lapping sashing the way the old ones were made. The bottom has two runners that are hand carved out of the same sashing that goes all the way to the top. They are not breaded in like the ones that were made after the 1930's. It has been well preserved and is incredibly tightly woven. This Adirondack basket is guaranteed to be Museum quality. Also I have not cleaned the old basket, the dust from the old days is still in it. You are buying it as is the same way I did. And Thanks for looking. Remember Only Bidder's win !!!!!!!!!!!!!! And T Is no Reserve !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At A Very Low starting Price for this basket !!!!!!!!!
*NOTICE* To the buyer's out t I said this basket was Birch! But it is Black Ash! My mistake. But everything else is the same and it is truly a fine basket!. Sorry, Thanks for Looking.
