Up for bid is an original, 1908 Coca-Cola embossed tin, double straight sided bottle, sign. It is made by The American Art Works, as stated in the bottom right corner. It is in decent condition for it's age. Has a slight outward bow and slight creases in it, but I think it can be straightened out when laid flat. There are some small surface rust spots, as well as 21 nail holes. There are small areas were some paint is missing, mostly were the rust spots are. There are crazing lines to the paint. Can only see them close up. The bottom left corner will need to be straightened out as it has curled under slightly. It does need a cleaning, but I will leave that up to you. The back still has a spot were there is old newspaper stuck to it. It shows a mans arm with a cane underneath his armpit. The colors are still nice. I think they will be even better once the dirt has been removed. It measures 11 3/4" x 34 3/4". I looked in the Coke book and it says it is 12 x 36. Don't know if that's rounded off, but I measured this one and that's what I got. Great looking 100% original sign. Would look great in any Coke collection. Hopefully the pictures will help. Just wanted to let everyone know that it appears that the right side had been trimmed 1 1/4" (may be why it is not 36"). There is no white border. I did not notice until some one asked a question about it. It is a straight trim as if done on a machine. I think that's why I didn't notice it, no jagged edges or weird cut marks like you get when done by hand. Don't think it was done in the factory, maybe to fit in a frame for store display? Sorry I didn't notice it sooner...
