Up for auction is this Vintage 1920 First Boy Scouts World Jamboree Medal, Marked "Dieges & Clust", and with a Red, White & Blue Ribbon Attached. This is a very rare and Historical Boy Scouts of America item, and I will do my best to properly represent it in my description. I will not pretend to be an expert in the field of Scouting memorabilia, nor pontificate about the importance of this item to any BSA-related collection. Though I will state the obvious, which is that t are very few 1920 "First World Jamboree" Medals to be found, and I could only find two online sources that even referenced this medal. One relates to the "McBryde" auction, and the other is "Kovels" online price guide reference. Only 301 members of the Boy Scouts of America attended the 1920 International Jamboree in London, England, so this very likely belonged to one of the those contingents. I found it among a collection of BSA and early military items from the same era, which I bought at auction. As you can see in the photos, the medal is beautifully designed with the BSA emblem over the globe in the center, "Boy Scouts of America" and "International Jamboree, London July 1920" circling around the outer diameter. The back or obverse side of the medal has (presumably) the names of the various locations w Scout members came from to attend the Jamboree, and then just below the list of Cities is the "Dieges & Clust" makers mark. The medal measures approx. 1 3/8" (1.375) diameter, and shows some very light verdigris by the year/date. Also, the ribbon shows wear +/or age by the fading, loss of thread color on the edges of the red and blue material, and t is a tear (horizontally) ¾ of the way across the area w it attaches to the pinback "clips", as you can see in the photo. The pinback feature works well, and is in good condition.

Lastly, t are many great Boy Scout History, Memorabilia and Collectibles websites for researching, and I was very impressed by the quality and obvious devotion people have given to these sites. I appreciate the work involved in putting them online for everyone to enjoy and learn from, as they have helped me find much of the information I needed to research a variety of BSA items. I am honored to offer this medal for some lucky buyer, so do not hesitate to bid if you intend to win this rare item. Bidding starts at a very reasonable opening price, with no reserve. However, I do reserve the right to withdraw this listing, if t is a lack of interest at this time. If the opening bid is made within the first few days of the auction, then it won't be necessary to withdraw the listing. Please, serious bidders only, and Good Luck! Seller pays fees for shipping and insurance, which includes careful handling and sturdy packing materials. I will try to accommodate any special shipping requests, and I can consolidate shipping, if you should win more than a one item from my listings. U.S. Buyers Pay using PayPal, Money Orders or Cashier Checks Only. Overseas Buyers Pay using PayPal Only. Payment must be received within 7 days, with no exceptions. No Delayed Payments Accepted.
