Tonight we are putting up for auction a little something different and what we have here is A RARE 1933 LICENSE PLATE TOPPER ISSUED BY THE STATE OF COLORADO TO ONLY THOSE RECEIVING UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION OF THE EARLY THIRTIES....... ACCORDING TO THE RESEARCH I'VE DONE ON THE NET.....IT LOOKS LIKE THESE TOPPERS WERE SHOWN TO A GAS STATION ATTENDANT THE DRIVER WAS ON UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF AND GASOLINE COULD BE PURCHASED AT A REDUCED RATE .......I guess this was Colorados way of helping those that were unemployed during the depression..... THE HEAVY TIN TOPPER IS STAMPED WITH A S/N AND IS EMBOSSED 1933 COLO. AND IS ALSO EMBOSSED WITH A LARGE UR, WHICH STANDS FOR UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF...... THE TOPPER MEASURES 31/2" High X 3" WIDE AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH NO DENTS OR BENDS, BUT DOES SHOW SOME LIGHT RUSTING...... This piece would look great in any Depression Era, or license topper collection......... The winning bidder will pay shipping charges of $2.85 within the lower 48 states , with shipping charges to Canada and overseas to be determined after the auction...Payment is due within 3 days of auctions end....or we reserve the right to re-list, and leave appropriate feedback.....
