An Originaland Authentic Flying Tiger Fighter Aircraft OfficialPeriod Photograph The Flying Tigers was the nickname of the American Volunteer Group (AVG), a group of United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), United States Navy (USN), and United States Marine Corps (USMC) pilots and ground crew, recruited under a secret Presidential sanction by Claire Chennault, that formed a fighter group with three squadrons that trained in China and defended the Burma supply line to China prior to the American entry into World War II to fight against Japanese forces. Their heroic exploits captured the imagination of the world. The Chinese called them Fei Hu , for the sharks' teeth painted on their planes. The world knew them as the Flying Tigers. They served in China from 1937, before (and some after) the U.S. officially got involved in WW2. This 8" x 10" original, official period photograph, is framed. T is a date written in pencil on the frame back: June 19, 37. Winning bidder will have three days to make payment; photo will be shipped within three business days of successful completion of sale. Guaranteed to be as described.
