Thisno reserve auction is for an original 1950 Lionel 773 Hudson with 2426W Tender in their OBs and Master Carton. Lionel produced this huge 4-6-4 steam locomotive to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company in 1950.
This awesome piece has been adult owned and gently cared for its entire life. The 773 has circled a layout a few times as evidenced by the pickup rollers. It is complete and original including all fragile parts. It shows some minor rubbing at high points. It was tested about 10 years ago and ran a bit sluggishly so it could use a good servicing and lubrication if you plan to run it. The locomotive box shows shelf wear in the form of tape residue and a little writing. All flaps are present and firmly attached. The seam tape is excellent. The insert is clean and complete. The engine sits nestled inside a large sheet of original wax lined Lionel logo wrapping paper. A partial bottle of smoke pellets, wooden smokestack cleaner, silver capped tube of lubricant, 773-132 instruction sheet and golden inspection slip round out the engine package.
The 12-wheel 2426W Tender is complete including all 4 of the fragile steps and all handrails. Some very minor rubbing at high points. The box is nice and square. The orange and blue graphics are quite nice. It shows shelf wear in the form of some skinning/scuffs and a tear on one side. Both end flaps and all interior flaps are present. One tuck flap is missing. There is some tape repair. One end flap has some writing on it. The liner is complete. Like the engine, the tender sits nestled inside a sheet of original wax lined Lionel logo wrapping paper. The golden inspection slip is also present.
The master carton is the late variation. It is complete with all flaps being present. It is still factory sealed on the bottom. The top flaps show wear including some delamination on the underside. There is some tape residue from a few strips of masking tape that once held the box closed.

I am in the process of thinning out a lifetime train collection that started in the early 1970’s. It includes many rare and unusual items most of which are very high quality in original packaging. Some examples are a boxed 460P Piggyback Platform, boxed 3356-150 Horse Corral Platform, dealer and factory sealed items, as well as many pre and post war boxed sets. Most of my collection is Lionel with some Ives, American Flyer and other manufacturers represented. I do not have a collection list to share at this time. When practical, multiple items may be sent together to save on shipping costs. All items are carefully packed and typically shipped via UPS Ground (large packages) or USPS first class or priority mail (small packages and envelopes) within 3 business days after payment clears. I reserve the right to choose the delivery method, whether that be UPS, USPS Priority Mail, First Class or Parcel Post at my discretion. Shipping is not a profit center for me so if I overestimate the cost I will gladly refund the difference of any full dollar amounts. Payment via Paypal is expected within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made. eBay rules require you to inquire about alternative payment methods. TCA...
