Fine and rare original painting by San Francisco, California artist Win Ng.This work is watercolor on paper and measures a bit shy of 18" by 24". It appears near completely abstracted but for the hint of a boat and perhaps a sun orb above. The painting is supremely colorful and an absolute joy for any wall.It is signed by the artist lower right and not dated but dates to the 1960s.It is unframed and in perfect condition but for one little 1/2" tear to the paper lower right. That little tear is essentially invisible from the front.I bought this painting in June, 2007 directly from the well known Portland, Oregon artist and sculptor Tom Hardy while visiting him at his studio on Swan Island in Portland.I jotted down the following information during that visit with Tom.Tom Hardy met Win Ng while Tom was teaching sculpture at the University of California at Berkley in the 1950s.According to Tom, this painting was done by Win Ng in the 1960s at Shaw Island, Washington in Puget Sound where they went together with other friends.Also, Tom helped Win Ng to get a show here in Portland at Contemporary Crafts Gallery.Tom Hardy has been known his entire long career for his relationship with other artists and his prolific trading artwork for artwork with his fellow artist friends.
