This card set is an original 1973 baseball season in EXCELLENT to NEAR MINT condition. This is a complete set of player cards (580 total cards) reflecting the 1973 season stats. An imperfection in the set is that as a youngster I changed the teams of a few players using white-out and a pen to better reflect the teams they spent most of their time with during the 1973 season. The players involved are: Dave Campbell, Tommie Agee, Ray Busse, Mike Andrews, Jim Kaat, Rico Carty, Duke Sims and Rich Reese. I also neatly printed the teams on four players who were not assigned to teams: Jim McGlothlin, Pat Borque, Felipe Alou and Matty Alou. I also unfortunately wrote DH-x (x = 1, 2, 3 or 4) on a handful of players on each American League team to indicate how often a player was used as a DH during the season. 1973 was the first year of the DH and I wanted to know which players were primarily used as a DH on each of the teams. The teams were never used in play but have brown aging stains on the edges of many cards due to being stored in a hot garage for the past 15 years. The cards with the most aging stains are Tom Hilgendorf, Tom Grieve, Rod Carew, Jim Kaat, Sal Bando, Ken Holtzman, Darold Knowles, Frank Robinson, George Scott, Tom Seaver, Bill Robinson, Ken Singleton, Jim Brewer, Tom Paciorek, Cesar Cedeno, Gary Ross and Dave Roberts.
