UP for auction is a some very interesting vintage Marimekko fabric from 1974. Everything designed by this famous Finnish company is Fabulously back in style again......Based in Helsinki and begun by Armi and Viljo Ratiain 1951, the Marimekko Company employed the most avante guard designers to design their fabrics. Marimekko, known for its innovative bold patterns and exuberant designs, has experienced a resurgence in popularity. Originally introduced to the American audience in the late 1950's, Marimekko became extremely popular following a December 1960 Sports Illustrated cover showing first Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in a simple Marimekko cotton dress. Fabric is 3 1/3 yards by 52". Entitled "Pirske" and designed by Maija Lavonen. T are squares of black, orange, green, blue and yellow. T is no particular pattern that I can tell. All I can find out about this designer is she is well known in the textile design area. Was picked up at a sale. It looks to be in very good or better conditition - stored at a smoke free home. If you have any questions - or would like additional pictures- please try and ask a minimum of 24 hours before the auction ends so I have time to get to it. Sold as is. International bidders - I prefer that you email for a shipping quote & mailing requirements before bidding. If not, you will be responsible for actual shipping costs and handling fee is applicable. Invoice/Payment Invoices will be sent within 48 hours of auction close. I accept PayPal, Money Orders or Cashiers Checks. Please wait to be invoiced before paying if you won more than one item, want it shipped another way than the first option, or wish to continue bidding on other items. If you choose to pay before being invoiced I will not refund any overpayment. I am going to accept personal checks from USA bidders on a case by case basis (I will look at your feedback for the past 30 days) . YOU MUST ASK ME FIRST IF I WILL ACCEPT A PERSONAL CHECK FROM YOU! IF YOU SEND ME A CHECK WITHOUT ASKING AND RECEIVING MY OKAY IT WILL BE SENT BACK TO YOU. If I agree to accept a personal check, I will hold off mailing purchases for 10 business days, or until the payment clears - whichever comes first. Shipping I will ship USPS parcel mail unless requested otherwise by the buyer. I am more than willing to ship priority, 1st class, parcel post or media mail if allowed by the USPS. I will also combine multiple wins to help save on postage. Buyer will pay actual shipping costs plus a handling fee. Insurance is optional but highly recomended. I will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items that are uninsured. Please use the shipping calculator to figure out shipping costs - the handling fee will be included in the shipping calculator. I will mail purchases Monday - Friday excluding holidays. I can usually ship same day if payment is received by 12:00pm that day. Please remember that sometimes things come up, but I will mail purchases asap after payment is received. I will let you know when your purchases have been shipped via email.
