The original 1974 Vintage poster is the most rare of posters for the Rolling Stones as all were produced for promotional purposes only, and none ever sold in stores for the movie’s debut. Most were actually destroyed when utilized as they were created for the plastering on billboards in New York City in 1974 when there were many billboards available for putting up the posters with a mix of flower and water as in the days of the circus from the 19thC! A crew went out daily and brushed the posters up advertising “Ladies and Gentlemen, the Rolling Stones” throughout New York in the spring of 1974 for the opening premiere performance of the quadraphonic movie on Easter Sunday, 1974 at the Ziegfeld Theater opposite the Hilton Hotel.Here, available, are the few remaining posters that did not get pasted to the billboards, but remained in storage until now for 38 years in Mint Condition, as crisp as the day printed, though showing the age of time on the newsprint but not impacting the poster itself—true showing of authenticity. Printed in Soho, NYC, the spectacular poster measures 34 ½” height by 10 ½” wide in multicolor lithographic fine work; the poster lists the prime movers behind the movie’s quadraphonic renditions where tons of electronic equipment had to be utilized to replicate the concert in Texas of 1972.Along with the original read more
