Grouping of 3 photographs shortly before the Trans-Contintinental race from Los Angeles to Newark in August of 1932. Of special interest is the first photo, showing Amelia Earhart with Paul Mantz, who was the most famous stunt pilot of his day. He was also a consultant and technical advisor to Ms. Earhart. One of his first clients was none other than Howard Hughes. He had an exciting career and finally died in a plane crash while filming "The Flight of the Phoenix" in 1965. The second photo shows two men, one of which (I think) is Ms. Earhart's husband. The third shows and unknown pilot. All three photos are marked Aug. 22, 1932, on the rear and have captions. They appear to have been removed from an album. There is also some minor tape residue on the front and back that I'm reluctant to try to remove for obvious reasons. Truly, an amazing bit of history . They measure 2 x 3" each. Thanks for checking them out.
