This auction is for a highly collectable and all original set of U.S, Patent Office issued documents with exploded diagrams and narrative. This indexed notebook collection was part of a toy patent library kept by Joe Bonanno of Lionel's Engineering Department. The book contains 81 American Flyer patents from 1932-1954. When a patent was granted, one original copy only with seal and blue ribbon was issued to the inventor, however additional patent copies could also be requested for a fee. Besides the original, very few patent copies were requested or issued. The original U.S. Patent Office issued copies were printed on lessor quality paper stock and stapled by the Patent Office in 2-3 places on the left-hand side.
