RARE ANTIQUE PETER PAN BREAD AND CAKES METAL SIGN - BAG HOLDER This antique Peter Pan Brand Bread and Cakes metal sign/bag holder was used in stores to hold grocery bags. This is all ORIGINAL, not a reproduction. Boxes of grocery bags would slip into the rack on the reverse side of this piece and could be pulled from 3 or 4 locations along the underside of the sign - from my understanding. The sign is attached to the wire "cage" backing with screws and could be removed if desired so the sign could be used as a wall hanging. Sign measures 36" long x 14" wide. It is slightly rusted on the back and there are a few scratches on the front. The paint is still bright and in excellent condition. There appears to be no touch-ups. Over all it is in very good condition considering its age and use. I am told these are very rare. (I was also told this was used on a store's screen door to prevent people from pushing through the screen). ? Maybe it had many uses.
