This is an ORIGINAL AP Photograph from WWII . T is a piece of paper attached to the rear of the photo and folded over the front. The caption on the paper reads; " SINKING NAZI SUB CREW RESCUED Coast Guardsmen in the lifeboat at the left pick up members of the crew of a Nazi sub as the raider begins to settle after losing a battle with the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Spencer." T are some edits on the paper in pencil for the newspaper. On the back of the photo is stamped in red "NOTICE This picture is the property of the Associated Press"... with some writing in pencil as well. My father had these in his collection he acquired while working for a newspaper in the late 1970s. T are no tears in this photo. T are creases, one in the upper left corner and one in the upper right corner. Both are in the white border and do not affect the picture. This glossy photo measures 9 inches wide by 7 inches high.
