This auction is for an Original Boxed Set Of German Flying Goggles by O.W. Wagener & Co., Rathenow, as used by Luftwaffe Pilots and Aircrew during WWII. T is a date stamped on the box: 20.10.42, or, 20 October, 1942. I'm not really sure about the 20 part, it's hard to read. The box includes the Goggles, complete with Smoke Colored Lenses installed; two pair of Clear Lenses, each pair in a felt material protective cover, and a cloth for cleaning the lenses. One set of clear lenses still have "L" and "R" stick-on labels to identify the Lenses as to position, Links und Rechts ( Left and Right ). Notice that the Lenses for the right side have red tinted edges, red was often used to indicate in German, items positioned to the right; and blue for left, when used. The condition of these Goggles, the Box and everything in it, is exceptional. Although not readily noticable, t is the beginning of some slight checking to the rubber pad on the front between the frames; I've tried to show this with a close-up photo. The rest of the rubber face pad, front and back, has no checks or cracks. Some paint on the frames has flaked off over the years. The head band still has some elasticity to it. None of the three pair of lenses is cracked or chiped. If you have any questions, please email me and I will try to answer them for you.In addition to PayPal, I accept only Postal Money Orders .
