Another rare find from the collection of Great Aunt Euphania. we present for your consideration an original boxed set of flatware that is over 100 years old. The pattern is Elmore and it was made by Wm. Rogers (you may also find pieces marked 1881 Rogers) in 1905. This is a set of 18 pieces, six knives with the old and original silverplated blades, six forks and six teaspoons. Both the knives and the forks have that beautiful pattern on both the front and the back. The forks are in the best condition, the tines are still pointy and sharp and they show very little wear, the knives are better than most we have seen but still show some wear to the cutting edges. The blades are marked "Wm. Rogers and Son Warranted 12 Dwt". The spoons which perhaps have seen the most use show wear to the plate on the backs and also on the front in the cartouche area. This is visible in the photograph. None of these pieces has been monogrammed. Each piece has been hand polished by my aunt herself with silver cream and then washed in warm sudsy water and is ready for use. The silver comes in the original oak box which in itself is a collectible item. The box measures 10 1/2" across by just shy of 9" wide and is 4 1/2" high. The drawer which holds the spoons slides out smoothly and the clasp on the front closes and opens easily. T is a diamond shape piece of silver on the top of the box which was originally intended for the inscription of the owners name, this has never been used but shows it's years and is worn. The box is of such quality that the company which made it was so proud of it's work that it is marked on the bottom! McGraw Box Company Mfrs. McGraw, New York As the years pass it becomes increasingly difficult to find quality Victorian silverplate at reasonable prices. Those replacement services either don't have what you are looking for or want an arm and a leg for one little piece. at BeldamManor we are pleased to offer you this set for an opening bid of just $49.99. Buyer pays shipping. We suggest insured parcel post. Will ship without insurance at your own risk. Box and silver have been together over 100 years now and we are not willing to split them up and sell them seperately. This is too large to be shipped in a flat rate priority box. We gladly combine items for shipping as we are able, more photographs or information upon request. Thanks for looking, and please see our other sales.
