Rare, original ca1910 Chromolithograph Advertising Sign for “Murad Cigarettes" (manufactured by S. Anargyros) featuring a beautiful Turkish Woman and images of Murad Cigarette Packs!!! This wonderful and quite rare American Cigarette Advertising Sign measures approx. 29 1/2" x 39 1/2" and is printed on heavy paper board stock. It features a central image of a beautiful, young Turkish woman holding aloft a tray upon which rests a pack of "Murad" Cigarettes. Surrounding the edges of the Sign are 26 repeating images of Murad Cigarette Packs. Advertising text on the Sign reads at the top "MURAD". At the upper left is text that reads "The Turkish Cigarette" and at the upper right "Boxes of 10 and 20". Further text at the lower right asks the question: "Everyw - Why?" while text at the lower right answers the question: "Judge for Yourself. Compare Murad and Any 25 cent Cigarette. Turkish is the World's Most Famous Tobacco for Cigarettes.". T are uniform, tissue backed holes punched in the letters of the word "Murad" at the top of the sign. T are "as manufactured and it appears that the Sign may have been meant to be back lit with an electric light. The Sign is undated and unsigned by the lithographer but the lithography is of the highest quality and the cigarette pack dates from the early 20th century.

This very attractive, Murad Cigarette Sign is in good condition - the colors are bright and vibrant and t is no significant staining, soiling, fading, or darkening. T is, however, wear and some chipping along the bottom edge. T is some edge wear on all sides with a couple of short edge tears. T are some surface thin scratches and small areas of abrasion. The upper 4/5 of the back of the Sign was coated (a long time ago) with a plaster type surface likely to stabilize the paper board and protect the Sign from damage. Overall the Sign is attractive "as is" and with a quality matting and framing it will display nicely. A very rare and attractive, early 20th century Chromolithograph "Murad Cigarettes” Advertising Sign and a fantastic addition to any collection!! Overseasshippping is extra and cost will be quoted at bidders request. Massachusetts residents must add 5% sales tax. Insurance is required on all items selling for $100 or more and optional on items selling for under $100 (but highly recommended) and not available on International Shipping.
