You are purchasing an Original Christensen Agate Guinea Marble, made by the Christensen Agate Company (1925-1933). This marble does exhibit the " Cyclone " effect with portions of colored glass swirling in the interior of the clear glass. Christensen Agate was an Ohio-based company which had no connection with the earlier M.F. Christensen & Son Company. This Guinea is approx 5/8" in diameter and in Excellent condition with only the slightest flea bites as made, HOWEVER grading is very subjective and you should evaluate the marble according to your own standards. If you look carefully at the last photo posted you will notice in the center of the photo a small glass "chip" area that is present as made. This marble came from a pouch of 25 found in an attic in Central Pennsylvania.Christensen Agate made the "Guinea" marble, a striking multicolor marble that is one of the most expensive and desirable of all machine-made marbles. The name is purportedly derived from the similar coloration of Guinea Hens. Genuine CA guinea marbles have one or two machine “cut lines” that are not found on modern handmade guineas. Cut lines are where the molten glass was cut in the machine, the reformed and rolled back to a sphere.
