Original 1860s mens civilian wool flannel night shirt. Typical 1860s New England garment factory construction with a mixture of machine sewing & hand sewing. Button holes are entirely hand sewn & finished, it wasnt until the early 1870s with the invention of new sewing machines button holes were able to be done with sewing machines. Buttons on the neck and cuffs are classic 1860s white porcelain and are original to the garment. One top neck button is chipped. Condition is overall very good-excellent, no mothing, just average light wear. This and other mid and early 19th century clothing items I will be selling all came out of the same house attic trunk up in Maine a few months back that I cleaned out.
