Original Civil War Sons of Liberty Wool Coat / Jacket.

The coat is made of a navy blue wool, is in excellent condition and has some areas of mothing with no rips on the outer portion of the coat.

The coat measures 15 1/4 inches from shoulder to shoulder, 21 inches from shoulder to sleeve, 15 inches from armpit to armpit and 27 1/2 inches from back collar to the back bottom area of the coat.

The coat features a chevron on each shoulder. Each of the chevrons have 3 yellow stripes with a gold metal mesh key & arrow symbol.

The coat has 4 buttons down the front and 2 buttons on each sleeve for a total of 8 buttons.

The buttons down the front and the buttons on the sleeve all have the same design (see photo 7) with the buttons on the sleeves being smaller in size.

The back of the buttons down the front are stamped A.P. DAVIS PAT'D NOV 20TH 1888 PITTSBURGH PA ( see photo 8 ). One of the four buttons down the front has come loose but is still present (I found it in the inner pocket of the coat).

I am unsure of what the back of the buttons on the sleeves are stamped as it is difficult to look under them due to the way they are on the coat.

The inside collar still has the original tag that reads G.W.S. ???? & Co. (see photo 12-the tag is worn and loose on one side).

The inside lining has a pocket on the inner right area and the lining is in great condition with no holes, rips or mothing.

There is a different color lining on the inner arm areas that is white with green/blue stripes. The lining on the inner arms have a few minor holes on each of the armpits.

The coat/jacket is 100% original and has been in my family for generations.
