After deliberating for a long time to part with this set, I'll put it out t and see what happens..Any surviving Confederate made leather items are scarce and sought after by collectors and dealers obviously, most items you find are " captured " US items with an alleged CS affiliation of use . The items shown are without a doubt CS made, issued and used. The belt rig consists of a beautiful example of a Cs cap box, single loop on reverse, carriage buggy finial for closure, and inner flap intact. Stitching is sound and leather still quite supple and has not been treated with anything. The belt is made of pigskin and is 33" long, the most noteworthy item of the unique belt is that the 2 prong attachment on the end for the belt plate is original and after examination by some leading collectors and dealers, this belt was made for a State issued belt plate which would have had the " puppy paw" attachments on the reverse, no other CS made plate had these attachment hooks ! The holster also, is made from Pigskin, and leather is also very sound and supple and stitching quite strong, the button flap has a tear , obviously from use. The holster appears to fit a Colt Pocket pistol, as it fits that pistol like a glove, or any other small frame pistol. The whole rig has the much desired character and look and feel of an ORIGINAL Confederate belt read more
