Up for auction is a rare original wood top or side piece to a shipping crate that once held supplies bound for Fort Richardson Texas, this crate lid has Army Clothing & Equippage, San Antonio Depot 1873 written on it, it also has US No 71 and 309 written on it, the black lettering is still visible and legible but it does have some smears on it from all the years it has seen, the square nails are still in the wood, I have more of these with different writings on them, will post soon, Fort Richardson was established Febuary 1868 and closed down in May of 1878, it is 10 3/4" Long by 50 1/4" wide by 1" thick, any questions please contact me, thanks.
