Up for auction is one of my original TRACKER/WSK knives. Most know my name from the Tracker/WSK knives I've produced which were seen & used in the 2003 Paramount Pictures movie "The Hunted" with Benicio Del Toro & Tommy Lee Jones. Since I've stopped producing these back in 2005, these knives have been getting harder to find & have been pretty much bought up by collectors. The knife I have here is one which I have agreed to sell for a dear friend of mine. It is a rare & hard to find Model "C" TRACKER/WSK. This was the same pattern used for the filming of "The Hunted" but is an earlier model which was produced sometime around 1997-1998 when I was still using the TRACKER trademark stamping on my blades. This knife was also made during a period when I didn't issue serial numbers. The use of serial numbers didn't resume again until 2003. This knife was well kept & was still in the original wrappings when it was brought to me. It is in NEW/UNUSED CONDITION! This knife has a 1/4" thick x 6-1/4" blade crafted from 01 high carbon tool steel. It has a 3-3/4" hatched edge surface, 2" flat ground draw knife edge & transitional gut hook/tool-rounding scraper. The 2-3/4" staggered saw toothed wood saw is aggressive-cutting, self-cleaning & is used to facilitate primitive trap making. The 4" radious behind the saw teeth is the area used for striking with a wood baton for splitting wood. The blade has been differentially hardened & tempered to hold a keen edge & resist breakage under stress. The blades surface has been finely sanded, blued, then lightly polished to a unique smoke-gray color. A fully tapered tang distributes weight towards the hatchet portion for increased penetration & the dual position handle aids in control for chopping or carving & is ergonomically contoured for a positive & comfortable grip. The black linen Micarta handle is fastened with high strength epoxy & stainless steel Loveless bolts with brass nuts for accent. A 1/4" brass-lined lanyard hole is added to the butt end. The right hand friction sheath was hand crafted from heavy English bridle leather with a thick welting & double-stitched for long wear. A generous belt loop is added on the back. The knife is 12-1/4" OAL. *NOTE: A reserve price has been set at $1500.00. This knife is the real thing & the one all other makers have been copying since its gain in popularity from "The Hunted" movie. Due to its NEW/UNUSED CONDITION, its rare trademark stamping & the fact that these are no longer produced, this knife is concidered by many to be a highly collectable item.
