DECCA 50 DS PORTABLE GRAMOPHONE Dated 1 July 1950 In excellent working order Red case with cream motor board Post WW2 portable gramophones were made to high standards and this one is no exception This gramophone has a double spring motor for extended running times which means it can play more than two 78rpm record sides without needing to be rewound. It is fitted with the original good quality DECCA Meltrope soundbox. Internally the gramophone is in very good condition. There are bright chrome parts including the tonearm, speed adjuster, automatic and manual brakes all of which work well. On the right at the front of the motor board is a lidded needle bowl in which I will put some new needles to get you going. Very conveniently the gramophone lid has a record carrying compartment in which I will send a few records. Externally the overall condition is very good and unusually the gramophone retains its original red carrying handle. There are minor marks on the corners and bottom. There is surface rust on the front lid retaining brackets and the carrying handle covers. I must stress that this gramophone has not been "restored" in anyway and therefore retains its originality and authenticity I will include some basic operating instructions If bidding from abroad please ask for shipping cost first
