This helmet has much age and is hand forged. The hammer marks are evident on the inside but the outside is finished quite smooth. The edges of the visor are turned under and have a decorative "rope" border as does the comb. It weighs 3 ½ pounds so it is not bullet resistant but would stop edged weapons. Two of the brass rosettes are missing and only a small piece of buff leather remains under one rosette. T are four small extra holes which I believe were used in mounting the helmet for display. One side appears to have the original blackening and the other side has had additional blackening many years ago, probably wver it was displayed. I accept bank checks or money orders from U.S. bidders but I will also accept paypal from overseas. However, because of the paypal cost to me, 4% will be added to the final auction price on foreign paypal payment. Shipping will be actual cost. I do not charge handling or packing fees or inflate the shipping cost.
