ROSALENE.....Fenton's "follow up" answer to similar glass by defunct Mount Washington, Carder & Steuben Glass. Fenton ended up running the original formulae of Rosalene until it was pressured to change the formulae due to cost and the EPA. Around 1990, the new version (kinder to melting pot life and dropping the particularly corrosive metallic oxides) was introduced making the original color much in demand and hard to come by. Rosalene was a lovely pink varigated glass, heat sensitive and difficult to make. The newer Rosalene had a very different look but retained the difficulty of production control. This is my personal collection of the original "stuff"! Pictures one through three are for a huge footed seven inch tall beautiful PINEAPPLE Fairy Light. # 5406 YOP The varigated "swirl or marble effect" is definite and strong. Picture number four is a group shot of much of this collection each to be listed and sold seperately. Pictures five through twelve are individual shots of some of the collection. We hope to get all (and several more pieces) listed this week. Each is in perfect original condition. Some have Bill Fenton's signature ....
