This is a wonderful bronze and ivory by Ferdinand Preiss. From a private estate and being sold with NO reserve. The "ballerina" is approx. 6 and threequarter inches high including its marble base which is original and is marked "Germany". The figure is signed on the base with the foundry mark of "Preiss Kassler" which is the foundry and company formed by Preiss and his partner Kassler. The ballerina is on page 134 of the Ferdinand Preiss book and the factory model number was 3738. This magnificent piece is in perfect condition. No breaks or cracks. A collectors must have. This bronze and ivory is antique and original BUT cannot be exported. For sale in the U.S. only. The identical piece to this sold in the Dorotheum Auction House in Vienna,Austria for almost $8400 on November 28th. 2007. The record of this is on Artnet. We are still going to offer this to the highest bidder and sell it with no reserve. Someone is going to buy a bargain !!
