Just pulled from a vendors old storage unit and Restored! An "Original Ford Penny Dish Gumball Machine", This machine was made between 1935-1947 by its serial number, this info can be found in Bill Enes's book Silent Salemen Too, it is a steel machine that was originaly painted red, that vends the 1/2 in size gumballs for a penny. Machine was taken apart, cleaned, glass beaded, primed, and painted with a base coat clear coat finish just like an automobile. The First Ford Dish machines were all painted red, this is not one of the earlist, but are harder to find than the ones without the dish and ones made of Chrome or Stainless steel. Machine has it's Original "small" size glass globe "without" the normal flat spot on the front for the decal, these are hard to find themselfs, it does have a few light very scratches and scratches on the flat spot on the top w the operator would lay the globe on the ground to fill. Also has its Original water decal on the inside of the globe. This one has all metal parts inside like it should, no plastic. It has all 5 correct red rubber feet, the red suction style were always on the penny machines. Has the Original Corbin pad lock and a new key. Comes with a full globe of Bubble Gum included "Free". I took the pictures on a very sunny day and it washed the color out a little, it looks orange, but is a nice Coke Cola red. This is a nice Quality machine to add to your collection!
