Lovely French Art Nouveau signed spelter figurine that I have had for about 15 to 20 years. She stands on a faux marble base with a beautifully scrolled metal emblem that says, "Papillon" (butterfly),and underneath that, "par Ruchot". She stands 20.5 inches and is 7" at her widest point, which is from wing tip to wing tip. The diameter of the base is about 6.5 to 7 inches. T are three areas of damage on her: T is a crack around one wrist that goes about 2/3rds of the way around--t is no movement to the wrist due to the crack. T is also a crack that goes over the top of her shoulder on that same side. It stops w her clothes are attached to her back and underarm. T is also no movement from the crack in that area. In all honesty, the crack in the shoulder looks worse in the photo than it does in person. T is, lastly, a crack to the very tip of her wing that has been repaired. This can only be seen from the back of the figure,and then only upon close examination. All these are shown in the photos, but the repair on the wing tip cannot be seen. The cracks are t, but in my opinion, do not take away from the overall impression and grace of this lovely piece. If you need it to be perfect, do not bid. These pieces are about 100 years old and rarely are unscathed from that length of time on this earth. The patina and finish are still in very good vintage condition. This piece is being offered with a reasonable starting bid and no reserve. Shipping and handling will be about $15 to $25. Insurance is required. I will only ship to US and Canada.
