GAGE * is a complete, genuine historic newspaper with the following title, date and description: THE EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT , Scotland, Jan. 10, 1758. * Original French & Indian War reporting in original 18th century period item - Thomas Gage - unique gift idea Page 3 includes some military promotions, which includes some names that would come to prominence 20 years later in the Revolutionary War: Thomas Gage, Lord Viscount Howe, & James Abercrombie, and Archibald Montgomery among others. T are a few minor references to the French & Indian War which was going on at the time, including: "...considerable body of forces will sail for North America...all the troops already t to hold themselves in readiness to act in conjunction with these on these on their arrival." and "...a general exchange of prisoners, taken by the French & English from on board ships of all sorts has been proposed..." . Complete in 4 pages, very nice condition.
