Original French Political Satirical Cartoon by French cartoonist Georges Tiret Bognet c. 1890's depicting Otto Von Bismarck (German/ Prussian Leader) struggling under the weight of numerous tomes of " Memoires De Hohenlohe '. This is original artwork in ink & crayon on light card presumably from the archive of the French publication 'La Chronique Amusante' (Chronicle stamped to rear, see photo). In good condition with some original pinholes and light soiling to the margins. Measuring 163mm by 126mm, this would look great framed. This is one of six pieces of original artwork from this archive that I am currently listing. The artist, Georges Tiret Bognet, born in 1855 was a prolific and widely published caricaturist and cartoonist in the thriving Parisian newspaper and magazine publishing scene in the latter part of the 19th century. He died penniless in either 1930 or 1935. Free worldwide registered postage from Ireland.
