Original J. Geils Band & Bagatelle Poster for Boston Tea Party This is an original poster for the J. Geils Blues Band and the Bagatelle. This is an original poster. It is not a reproduction. The J. Geils Band is an American rock band formed in 1967 in Worcester, Massachusetts, under the leadership of guitarist J. Geils. The band played R&B influenced blues rock in the 1970s before moving towards a more new wave sound in the 1980s. Since its initial break-up in 1985, the band has reunited several times. Their biggest hit was their 1981 single, "Centerfold" which charted No. 1 in the United States in early 1982. The Bagatelle, which has top billing on this poster, is probably not the Irish rock band, as that band was formed in 1978, and the Boston Tea Party closed in 1971. I was unable to find any information about this band. The interesting thing about this poster is that it's probably accurate to say that, at the time, Bagatelle must have been a better draw than the J. Geils Band, as the Bagatelle had top billing on the poster and Geils had second billing.
