This is an original Gil Hibben gold Hornet knife, the 1997 edition fantasy knife

by Gil. It's in factory unused condition, in the original box with the original sheath!

This knife measures 16" overall, with a 9" blade . T are two 2-1/2"

auxiliary blades, one on each side of the main blade; the gold plated guard

measures 5" wide. The blade is marked on one side with: "Hornet" and the

distinctive Hibben Knives logo .

T is a tiny marking near the guard that the maker (United Cutlery) put t when

we bought the knife, because it did not have a sheath. It doesn't detract from

the beauty of the knife. (They found the sheath later, it's mint and it's

included with the knife.) We got this knife when we bought the contents of the sample

room at United Cutlery, some years back. The handle is alternating dark and light

impregnated wood with brass spacers (it does a good job of imitating a hornet's

body.) Gold plated guard and pommel. The original Gil Hibben Hornet medallion is

with the knife and it is unnumbered, also. As you know, United Cutlery declared

bankruptcy and was liquidated by the US Bankruptcy Court in January, 2007.

And all these fine Gil Hibben knives are now history.
