Up for bid is a hand blown original art glass art sea shell sculpture with pearl from an independent American glass artist. This is a gorgeous, free flowing abstract sea shell grouping with a bright yellow anemone shell accompanied by one of the artist's signature blown glass pearls. All three pieces are finished hot and although it is asymmetrical, the piece is balanced and sits solid with no grinding or polishing to the base showing a true personal understanding of balance craftsmanship. ____________________________________ TITLE: Paradise Shells and Pearl - 'B'
DIMENSIONS: 6.75"H x 15"W x 11.5"Deep SIGNATURE: UNSIGNED LOCATION: Tacoma , WA . ____________________________________ The artist that made this original sea shell sculpture has his work shown and represented in fine art galleries and with designer/decorators across the country. Every piece he designs, creates, signs and releases is a museum quality original work of art that is finished to the highest standards possible in the contemporary glass art world by his own hands from start to finish. Even this unsigned 'B' piece included is finished beautifully on the punty and base hot. World famous glassblowing artist Dale Chihuly attended a showing of this artist's work early in his career at Glass Planet Art Gallery in Seattle and upon viewing his art gave the artist words of encouragement and told him to continue in glass art. With an amazing growth and study of free form vessels, he has continued as an independent artist and now is recognized for his rare ability to capture the natural and fluid existence of hot blown glass in amazing free flowing forms. This piece is an example of this artist's ability to explore new aspects of color, reflection and light in this beautiful style of glass work. This artist has introduced many young artists and glassblowers to this art form and has taught classes through the University of Washington Experimental College and South Seattle Community College with Lagarto Glass Studio in Seattle, WA. Since this artist creates only originals, the variety of designs in his work varies greatly from classic vase forms to abstract sculpture to architectural installations and chandeliers. "Free form or free style glass art work is one of the most beautiful recognizable styles in this art form. You can never truly copy any original work. In free style you allow gravity and centrifugal force to assist you in a spontaneous dance of creation and that dance can never happen in exactly the same way twice. This is why it is so exciting and fun to share with the world." The artist deemed each of these three pieces a 'B' piece due to some minor flaw or inconsistency. The main shell is very hard to find, but the base has a bump and is not perfect. The inner yellow shell has a spot in the middle back that the color went clear in an area same diameter as a pencil. (small) The beautiful fiery pearl had a couple bubbles on the surface that were melted off, but left oddities in the coloring. It remains a very liquid and beautiful piece, but due to these slight blemishes the grouping will remain unsigned! Signed, documented and a released original works of this artist sell in galleries from $2,400-$3,200. This artist's work is becoming quite popular and this piece could make a great art investment that benefits the artist! All of the proceeds of this sale, minus eBay costs go directly to the artist/s working budget for studio furnace time, new projects, color experiments and designs. We do not sell these odd pieces in the gallery. The artist will not be named in writing in this listing due to third party agreements and the fact this is simply an unsigned studio piece, but if you have any questions please feel free to email us at: We have a few others available! Insurance and USPS priority shipping in continental US are included in the $40 shipping costs. Every piece shipped from us is professionally packed...
