Please note I am selling a collection of W. H. Bartlett color engravings. they are being sold in 3 separate listings. This auction is for 4 original modern-colored engravings by W. H. Bartlett (William Henry Bartlett 1794-1898)). He traveled America and sketched scenery. Released as single works prior to 1840. Then in 1840 engravings were compiled into books titled "American Scenery" and "Land, Lake, and River Illustrations of Transatlantic" published by George Virtue 1840. These may be the early single releases as they do not seem to have been removed from book in any way. edges are crisp. Or they may be from one of these books. two have descriptions in German and I think French. Please view photos as part of description. be sure to ask questions before bidding. this is your chance to purchase rare early colored engravings as low starting price. I am not an expert on art but did do some research on these works. I purchased at an auction in Pennsylvania. ; if you are not 100% happy then I refund 100%! I will describe exactly what is printed on each color engraving:***Note there are two of these Engravings in this auction (see description as one has been cropped) Engraving: B 36 (rt corner pencil); Title "Bridge at Glens Fall (on the Hudson); rt corner directly under print "F.
