Up for auction is a nice Id'd CDV of William Webb of the 130th Ohio Infantry Co. K. Image shows a seated pose of Webb, holding his foot officer sword. The photo itself is very clear, but has some minor emulsion loss on the top and bottom edges as seen in photos. On the rear is Union Photograph Gallery C.V. Olds Sandusky, Ohio. Pencil signature at the top Wm. Webb. Records show William Webb Enlisting on May2, 1864 as a Captain, mustering into Co. K of the 130th Ohio Infantry. He mustered out on Sept. 22, 1864 at Toledo, Ohio. Please view photos for condition and as any questions before close of auction. All my items are guaranteed original unless otherwise stated.
One Hundred and Thirtieth Infantry- Col. Charles H. Phillips; Lieut. Col. John Faskin; Maj. Elijah B. Hall. This 1864, to serve for 100 days. It was composed of the 1st regiment Ohio National Guard, from Lucas county, and the 75th battalion Ohio National Guard, from Fulton county. The regiment left Toledo May 12 1864, to report to Brig.-Gen. Hill at Sandusky for consolidation and muster-in. It moved to Johnson's island and was engaged in guarding Confederate prisoners. On June 4 the regiment took the cars for Washington, D.C. It remained there but three days, when it embarked on the transport George Weems and reported to Gen. Butler at Bermuda Hundred, from which place it was ordered to Point of Rocks. The time was occupied in drilling, digging rifle-pits and picketing the lines until June 21, when it marched to Deep Bottom and remained there until Aug. 11. it was mustered out at Toledo, Sept. 22, 1864 on expiration of term of service.
